Besides staying physically fit and pumping the heart for a healthy tomorrow, runners and walkers will get a close-up view of many of Vevay's scenic and historic highlights when they participate in the festival's 5K River Walk/Run. Architecturally elite houses, built by riverboat magnates of the 1800s, still grace many of the tree-lined streets.


To begin and end at the south end of Ferry Street, the Saturday morning race features seven age categories, for both male and female. Pre-registration is available and late registration will be accepted prior to the start. The top two male and female participants in each age bracket will take home awards.






In addition, the first male and female to cross the finish line will earn awards. The top five overall male and female walkers will receive awards, with no age division. The entry fee is $14 for runners, $12 for walkers. After Aug. 16, both types of participants will have to pay an extra $2 to bring the total to $16 for runners and $14 for walkers.
